I'm really not into this but feel that I have no choice but to reveal this information with respect to this person Jose Escamilla. Why? Because others out there that Mr. Escamilla may attempt to deal with should know of my experience with him and be forewarned.

Back in April 2007, I discovered through third parties that some of my copyrighted image work was likely appearing as part of a commercial for profit DVD movie titled "The Greatest Story Ever Denied" by one Jose Escamilla d.b.a. Jose Escamilla Media Works, LLC and JEMWorks, LLC and being sold as a DVD here at this website. Since I have so far not given out permission for anyone to use my material in this manner and was never contacted by Mr. Escamilla or anyone representing him or his project prior to this production's release, it was obviously likely to me that this was a violation of my work's copyright protection.

You see, not only is my original discovery work often identifiably unique, it is covertly marked and presented in image frames with labeling. So anyone that downloads and uses my unique imaging from my website also must get the image frame along with it. If they reproduce that image in a commercial for profit product and their use is without the normally accompanying image frame and no text or verbal credit for my work is given in their product, it demonstrates clear intent to avoid having to give that credit and/or provide financial compensation. The imaging of my work that appears in Mr. Escamilla's product was without the image frames and no text or verbal credit was given in the production. In my opinion, this clearly demonstrated the intent not to acknowledge credit or provide compensation and in doing so, in my opinion, demonstrated what kind of person Mr. Escamilla is and calls his ethics and values into question.

I contacted Mr. Escamilla about this and to his credit he repeatedly admitted in writing, which I have multiple proofs of, that he did use my work without my permission and apologized for it. So it sounded innocent enough so far. In the course of our negotiations, we agreed on a nominal monetary compensation for his continued use of this particular material of mine in this video and again I have multiple proofs of this. I might add that he was very enthusiastic about this nominal compensation for obvious reasons of it being both economical and good for saving face. Again it so far sounded reasonable, intelligent and responsible.

However, when it came to actually paying the agreed upon amount, Mr. Escamilla did not do so and there followed a repeated asking for more time to come up with this nominal sum and never any mention that he didn't owe it. His excuse repeatedly was that he was broke and needed to have the input of additional outside financing of his projects before honoring this. This of course seemed implausible that this man producing a movie could not even borrow such a nominal sum and he also rejected my suggestion of making monthly payments indicating that he preferred to pay in full.

However, I agreed to give him more time and I'm sure you now know where this is going. Yes, as each of the many deadlines we agreed upon came and went by, he kept asking for more and more time and I kept going along with this trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. He would have the money next month, next week, and we were at times down to just a few days and even tomorrow. Further, this was going on even though this commercial movie continued and still continues to sell making this person and his associates money in some part on the basis of my image work.

Why did I go along with this? Because I have no wish to hurt this man or his business standing in his field through public exposure of what I regard as his questionable behavior. I still don't and never have reported on anyone else before because I'm not that kind of person. However, enough is enough after many long months of this time wasting experience. Jose Escamilla is personable and even likable making my revealing this private information between us even more unpleasant for me as well as for him.

On the other hand, my public service point in revealing this experience here is that this person continues to be out there doing business and selling himself and his products and trying to gather in investors for more projects. Perhaps Mr. Escamilla is okay in his dealings with others but all I can say is that, if that business he and his associates are doing or trying to do with others is anything like my above described experience with this man, anyone associated with him and/or his associates in a business financial way had better think two or three times and prudently use the greatest of care.

I am reminded that we are what we actually do, not what we say we intend to do. Mr. Escamilla by his own actions and lack of action has brought this public revelation of his practices on himself after many multiple chances spanning over many months to step up and honor his obligations and avoid this exposure including the chance presented to him just before this is posted. When one's behavior is full of consequence ridden potential, then having to experience a consequence like this should come as no surprise and one has no one to blame but oneself.

If you know of anyone out there who may be involved with or approached by Mr. Escamilla projecting big ideas and making promises, consider letting them know of my experience with him as stated here.
