This report is about an anomalous large thick tall object with what appears to be a cross member at its top. This appears as a very distant object alone in the background of one of the Apollo 17 Moon shots NASA file number JSC2004e52772 panorama image or more specifically in the Apollo 17 AS17-147-22590 image which is just one of the raw images included in the panorama image. Note the series of four images of this object below as we zoom closer and closer.

As you can see in the above 1st, 2nd, 3rd,
and 4th progressively closer images, this object in question is located alone
in the distant background. Further, it is very obvious that this is an artificial
object rather than something natural in the terrain. Likewise, even at such
a considerable original viewing distance, one can see that this object consists
of a wide thickness in its vertical base component.
I suspect that the official explanation will be that this is part of the Apollo
17 equipment. After all, what else can they say since the image has fixed
this in time and place, However, unless it is a light reflective fabric stretched
over a light skeletal frame, that vertical thickness in my opinion suggests
component bulk that would not likely have been carried to the Moon from Earth
by Apollo 17 considering the extremely limited transport space available.
If this image is truly of the Moon's surface, then how did this get there
if not carried and erected by the Apollo 17 LM crew? Could this be part of
some secret package with its components strapped to the outer areas of the
LM in flight? Or, could this possibly be something alien we are looking at
that is in turn watching the LM crew and their activities on the Moon?
Even though I knew of this from a previous report I made drawing from the
JSC2004e52772 panorama image, it should be noted that this evidence was more
recently brought to my attention by a party indicating that they worked at
JPL back in the mid 1970s on the Mariner 9 Mars program but who confirms that
they have no connection to any of this today. Their observation is that the
object in question here is reminiscent of ballpark stadium lights which might
be similar to the images displayed below.

Except for the perceived width of this object's vertical component, I would tend to agree with that observation because it reminds me of stadium lights as well. However, we must not forget that this object is viewed very distant in the original image, so the whole thing is actually quite large and would consist of a fair amount of materials bulk. Further, that light reflective vertical thickness aspect is quite substantial. These factors together suggest that something more involved than serving a tall vertical support function for artificial lighting is going on with this object. On the other hand, take a look at this same object in the two high resolution images below that are also part of the official science data at the links supplied.

http://www.hq.nasa.gov/alsj/a17/AS17-147-22590HR.jpg
As you can see, in these supposedly high
resolution images of the same scene, the top of the vertical component where
a cross member would be located is enveloped in something that is bright reddish
in color. Is this something a legitimate part of the object or is it some
bright overlay mark someone put on it early on to flag its presence and bring
attention to the need to get rid of it out of the image? If it is the latter,
well then someone still obviously over looked it.
Of course that kind of evidence along with the similar look as stadium lights
brings up the old question of whether any of this is actually on the Moon
or whether it is on a filming set here on Earth. I can't answer that with
confidence but I will say this. Just in case some may regard the idea of a
film set here on Earth as just too fantastic to be true, take a look at the
next and last image below of a completely different Apollo 17 scene.

http://www.hq.nasa.gov/alsj/a17/AS17-134-20400HR.jpg
In this above big 8th image sourced from
the same Apollo 17 mission Moon data, specifically raw image AS17-134-20400,
note the source of light pointed out by the red arrow at the top center area
of the image. Then note the shadows cast on the image near foreground by the
rover components and the afoot astronaut on the left as illuminated by the
light source.
As you can see, the shadow directions cast do not match what would be expected
from a distant light source like the Sun. If the light source was the very
distant sunlight, the shadows should be much more similar in their direction
on the ground. However, here the shadows fan out at left and right angles
in a pronounced way suggesting a much closer single overhead light source
just out of camera view. So could the cause be stadium type lights hanging
too close over the scene?
However, that isn't the only important anomalous evidence here. Now take a
closer look at the shadows themselves around where I have embedded the white
arrows and you will see that there is no terrain detail visible in the shadows
other than that created by the shadows. Remember that this shot was taken
at close range and is not a distant shot, so there should be at least a small
amount of geological ground detail visible within some of the shadow transparency
fields but it just isn't there. That suggests that too many of these shadows
seen here in this image have no transparency at all and are therefore not
real shadows at all but dark covering smudge applications mimicking shadows.
For example, note the two wheels/tires on the near side of the rover vehicle.
You can see that, even though they are in shadow, the wheels and tires can
be still be seen within the shadow transparency field. This is as it should
be because a true shadow has transparency. However, the shadow extensions
on the ground are different in that they are coatings and as such have no
transparency factor at all.
Also, note how prominent and visible the astronaut footprints are in the soil
and especially the reflective one between the two white arrows on the lower
right. Yet, note that the 4-wheel rover leaves no sign that can be seen of
its tire passage from its two starboard (far side) wheels/tires in the same
soil. This is visible anomalous evidence in the official science data that
just can't be ignored. Pretending that it doesn't exist does not make it go
away. Also, remember that I do not make any of this. It is there verifiable
in the official science data to tell its own story and I merely bring it to
your attention.
On the other hand, note the two bright disks near the top center of the image.
Don't get confused about these. They are camera artifacts created as the camera
lens focuses upward and a little too close to the bottom of the light source.
So don't confuse these as real objects or UFOs. They are just camera artifacts.
Although the evidence in this report does not answer the question of whether
or not these shots were taken on the Moon or here on Earth on some created
movie set for that purpose or both, the evidence just keeps mounting in bits
and pieces like this that at the very least all is not what it at first appears
to be in the older Moon imaging dating back into the 1960s and early 1970s
and that something is seriously wrong with it with respect to representing
truth. In this 8th image, the concept of a film set here on Earth becomes
less and less fantastic and official explanations more and more difficult
to swallow.
On the other hand, there's still the evidence of the substantial thickness
of the vertical component of the object visible in the 1-4th and 6-7th images
here that must not be ignored either. If this was stadium lights only, there
is just no need for the thick looking vertical shaft on what is suppose to
be a very low gravity airless world or for that matter fabric covered vertical
supports either. Further, it is hard to imagine the bulk of even fabric and
light weight skeletal framework components to erect this occupying precious
transport space on the Apollo 17 LM unless it represents some essential but
secret high priority technology of the time being tested and it's just that
no one wants to speak of it.
If not a movie set and if not brought to the Moon by the Apollo 17 mission,
the only other logical speculation is that this artificial evidence represents
something on the Moon belonging to someone else who isn't us. In that scenario,
tubular enclosed vertical material that might extend and retract in height
as well as turn and pivot for optimal viewing angle positioning begins to
make some sense.
In fact, if real, the reddish color at the top of the evidence might even
be a ruby or pink laser array large enough to overcome bright sunlight and
be seen by the astronaut camera because the lasers are focused right on the
astronauts camera at the time this image was taken and thereby caught by the
astronaut camera film. So could this be something actually on the Moon and
be alien equipment watching the Apollo 17 LM activity?
The visual anomaly evidence here produces greater mystery even as it doesn't
really answer the questions and speculations that it also raises. I do not
profess to know the answer but thought you would be interested in being at
least exposed to this evidence so that you can form you own opinion as some
of it is insightful.
Addendum added 7/24/2011
Subsequent to my original reporting above, it has been suggested that the
distant anomalous object in the 1–4 and 6–7 images is a geophone
associated instrument. Now one of the experiments of Apollo 17 was setting
off some explosive charges on the Moon and three geophones were supposedly
deployed that would measure the seismic readings. This data would in turn
help scientists determine the Moon's crust thickness and composition.

(high resolution image)
Now the above 9th image is officially labeled
"geophone #3" in the official science
data. Note the object in the above 9th image with the red fabric at the top
of it as pointed out by my red arrow. Note how generally similar looking it
is in general shape and configuration to the distant anomalous object in the
original reporting 6–7 images. On the other hand, also note the small
very slender size of this geophone experiment associated object. Note that
there is a huge difference in size between this object and the distant anomalous
evidence object in the 1–4 and 6–7 images and especially when
considering the thick vertical component.
I would guess that the above object with the red fabric at its top in the
9th image is only about waist or chest high at most. Something this short,
small, and slender we might not even be unable to see in the distance represented
by the anomalous object in the original reporting 1–4 and 6–7
images. On the other hand, I would guess that the distant anomalous object
I originally reported on is likely 7–9 foot high or more with the thickness
of its vertical component many times greater than the 9th image object.
As I discussed in my original reporting, the distant large tall anomalous
object, in my opinion, would represent too much bulk to be carried to the
Moon by the Apollo 17 mission as a seismic experiment devise alone. That is
unless it represents some technology and additional experiment agenda considered
very essential to the mission but that is a secret and not officially mentioned
or described in the mission experiments.
Therefore, I continue to suspect that we are looking at conventional lighting
technology belonging to us, or very secret technology belonging to us, or
technology belonging to someone else who is not us. Either way, this is almost
certainly something that we were never meant to see because it does raise
these very questions and issues.
